Palestine Technical University "Khadoorie" organized a closing ceremony for the "Development of Vocational Education and Training Competencies in Local Universities (TVETCQ) project, which was led by "Khadoorie" for four years, in partnership with a number of local and European universities.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Basri Salih, affirmed the Ministry's keenness to strengthen relations of cooperation and partnerships between the private sector and higher education institutions. He pointed to the role of "Khadouri" in refining students' skills through its academic, vocational and technical programs, and developing the Palestinian higher education system with the support of the European Union and the "German Cooperation" GIZ, and the importance that the Ministry attaches to supporting and developing the technical education sector, and improving the reality of higher education.
For his part, the President of Kadoorie University, Noureddine Abu Al-Rub, said that the university has built partnerships with local universities such as Palestine Polytechnic, Al-Najah National University, Al-Quds University, Arab American College, and the University College of Applied Sciences in the Gaza Strip, in addition to international cooperation that included European universities such as : Technical Berlin, German Applied Management Studies, Lille University, French Medlink, and the European Union of Vocational Training Institutes; To develop the capabilities of higher education cadres, and to keep pace with modernity, innovation and creativity, especially in the field of education and vocational and technical training.
In her turn, the project manager, Noha Atir, praised all European partners and supporters and the "Erasmus" program, who showed cooperation, which reflected positively in achieving the goals of the project, and serving the reality of Palestinian and international vocational and technical education, presenting the project's outputs that simulate the needs of faculty members in universities and the labor market. The Director of the "Erasmus Plus" office in Palestine, Abdul Karim Daraghmeh, expressed his happiness at attending the closing ceremony of one of the most important "Erasmus" projects in the higher education sector, especially vocational and technical education and training. He explained that the TVETCQ project provided Palestinian educational institutions with opportunities to exchange experiences in the field of technical and vocational education and training, which is a priority for the Palestinian local economy, by honing practical skills for graduates and creating innovative job opportunities.
As for the representative of the European Union, Jacob Arts, he stressed the importance of benefiting from the outputs of the project and achieving the impact, and the need to ensure the sustainability of these outputs, by circulating them to all institutions of higher education and the Palestinian labor market.
